From being a guitarist,to exploring an over powering music style in drumming and variable modulations through vocals, one of the best known rock artiste Jayce Lewis will merge all this tonight right here in the city. With his signature style of accents of rhythm changes and fills, his last destination of the musical tour by Vh1 in the country will see some of his latest works live.
The Welsh artiste who has also been the drummer of the rock band Losing Sun,rocked the music lovers with his single — Icon and is currently going solo working on his album Chapter.
Converging the best of east and west interestingly this time Lewis will be supported by the Indian Rock band Junkyard Groove while they create an extraordinary impact. A self taught artiste,he started as a guitarist at the age of six and is a fan of dance and tribal music. “When I was a child this was my number one emotion and as I get older it only gets stronger. After having communicated with music for years I am glad I chose to be a solo artiste in fact I should have done this much earlier,” he adds.
Along with his latest tracks Lewis will also have a lot of rock and electronic music during the performance. Speaking on his first solo album he says,
“My new album symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in my life, hence titled
‘Chapter’. Pune will definitely see my tracks from Chapter where I have virtually engaged in every instrument – guitars, drums, keyboards and of course vocals,it feels very complete.”
Switching focus Lewis admits of currently concentrating on singing while he says,”Drumming is something that I will never leave and I have been into Guitar for longer that that. However, right now I want to concentrate on the vocals. This has been my first musical tour to India and Asia. People understand a lot more here,I guess that is because of the creative inclination they have. In India,Art is seen in everything, from monuments to music and my music too does have a significant eastern influence.”
Jayce Lewis will perform tonight at Hard Rock Café
