A Group of twenty Kashmiri senior citizens on Wednesday visited the National Defence Academy (NDA),Khadakwasla,as part of Operation Sadbhavana,which that has been undertaken by the Army in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Army has made sincere efforts and undertaken various initiatives to include the elderly citizens of Jammu & Kashmir in bringing back youth in the terror -hit state to the national mainstream,said a press note from the NDA. The group was given a tour of all the facilities available for cadets training at the Academy. The senior citizens expressed happiness over visiting the prestigious institution and assured that they are going to carry a message for the future generation to opt for the Defence Services as a career.
Bringing together the young children from Jammu & Kashmir is bound to have a positive impact on the overall insurgency situation,because if the minds of the young people are won,it could go a long way in gradually resolving the issue,the note said.
NDA Commandant Vice Admiral R K Dhowan interacted with the group and expressed hope that more young people from Jammu & Kashmir would join the Academy.
