Rotary award given

Bharatnatyam dancer,Shashikala Ravi was awarded with Rotary Leadership Excellence Award,on October 21 for her contribution towards arts and culture.

Bharatnatyam dancer,Shashikala Ravi was awarded with Rotary Leadership Excellence Award,on October 21 for her contribution towards arts and culture. Ravi is also the founder director of Amritanjali School of Bharatanatyam,Pune. Shivaji Satam,film personality and Deepak Shikarpur,district governor elect of rotary felicitated Ravi with the award. All exemplary professionals and leaders are honoured by worldwide rotary calendar during the month of October. Manoj Joshi,a popular actor and comedian was also present on the occasion.

Cancer Awareness

Prashanti Cancer Care Mission,recently organized a fun walk aimed at spreading awareness about breast cancer. The event titled Run Pune Run was a 3kn walk taken by all cancer survivors,care givers,doctors and cycling club members to demonstrate the unity with which they can fight the terminal disease. Dr. C.B. Koppiker,Breast Surgeon at Prashanti Cancer Care Mission says,”We see more breast cancer patients in urban areas as in comparison to rural,” The event was followed by a dance performance by Shiamak Davar’s troupe,they have launched Pune’s first Pink Ribbon club support group for patients.
