Robocon 2012 kicks off today

The Road Education Safety Policy will look to bring down accidents by 50 per cent by 2020. The Union Ministry of Road Transport Highways have decided to implement the 4 E’s — enforcement,education,engineering (roads),engineering (vehicles) and emergency medical care for reducing accidents across the country. Pune-based Rajshree Parmar Memorial Foundation,one of the working committee for promoting education related to road safety has decided to identify the accident spots on roads. Under the policy,the group has decided to undertake awareness programmes for school children,college students and two wheeler drivers.

Conference on corporate governance beginsKnee and spine check-up camp on March 3

Lokmanya Hospital,Chichwad will conduct knee and spine check-up camp on March 3. The camp will be held between 9am to 3pm during which the patients will be examined and given consultation. Patients can avail up to 20 per cent discount on all treatments during the camp. The economically challenged people will be given more discounts,for surgeries. Dr. Narendra Vaidya,Artificial Joint Replacement Surgeon will examine the patients.

Theft at Jain Temple,ornaments stolen

An unidentified person robbed ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh from Jain Temple near Fulwala chowk in Guruwar Peth on Wednesday evening. The temple priest Birendra Hiralal Shah,a resident of Sadashiv Peth,lodged a complaint at Khadak Police Station. Police said theft took place between 7.30 pm and 7.45 pm,and said that thief entered the temple from the main entrance and stole the God’s crown made of gold.
