Rly official run over by train while crossing track

Railway police said the incident took place on Sunday afternoon

A 45-year-old deputy station superintendent with Shelarwadi railway station near Pune was killed after he was run over a passenger train while crossing track at Dehu Road railway station.

Railway police said the incident took place on Sunday afternoon.

The victim,identified as Ramkesh Meena by the government railway police (GRP),was a resident of Pragati Colony in Dehu Road.

GRP officials said around 12.45 pm Meena and some of his family members had got down at Dehu Road railway station after a journey in Pune-Lonavla local train.

“After the train left the the platform Meena tried to cross the track and was hit by Pune-Bhusawal passenger train. He died on the spot.” said a GRP official.
