RCF pumps five goals past Super XI

After hammering in 12 goals on Tuesday,RCF put five past Super XI on Wednesday and continued their dominant run in the third edition of the Late Devdas Shetty Memorial monsoon hockey league.

After hammering in 12 goals on Tuesday,RCF put five past Super XI on Wednesday and continued their dominant run in the third edition of the Late Devdas Shetty Memorial monsoon hockey league.

Vijay Thapa opened the scoring for RCF,converting a pinpoint Ravi Pareek cross in the first minute. Seven minutes later,Thapa completed his brace,again sweeping a Pareek pass into the net. Razik Shaikh scored RCF’s third goal barely a minute later.

Upendra Pllay and Satish Lama added one goal each to complete RCF’s victory and ensure that the team’s winning record in the tournament remained intact.

Pune City Police earned a close 4-3 victory over Rajesh Pillay Academy (RPA) in the second match of the day. RPA took the lead through Shabbir Shaikh in the ninth minute but Ganesh Gosavi restored parity,scoring for the Pune Police in the 13th minute. Vinay Walmiki again gave RPA the lead in the 17th minute but Prashant Gaikwad’s goal in the 32nd minute cancelled that out.

Bhushan Dhere gave Pune Police the lead in the 36th minute but Sangram Chowghule again pulled RPA level. However,Vinod Limbore’s penalty stroke in the 52nd minute sealed victory for Pune City Police.
