Raisaheb Gera passes away

Former chairman and founder of Gera Developments Raisaheb Pritamdas Tikamdas Gera passed away on Thursday after a brief illness. He was 91.

Gera founded one of the oldest construction houses in Pune. He was born on June 4 , 1918 in Quetta ,now in Pakistan . He moved to India during the Partition in 1947.

From humble beginnings,as an S Class MES contractor in 1950,he founded the Gera Group of Companies in 1972. Under his leadership and vision,the group thrived and grew manifold,becoming a name to reckon with in the industry.

He continued to be the Chairman of Gera Group of Companies until he retired a few years back. He was actively involved with the Rotary Club of Pune and had served as its President.

He is survived by his wife Sita Pritamdas Gera,and his children Mohan Gera,Kumar Gera and Poonam Sabunani.

The funeral procession will leave from his residence ‘Pritam Villa’ on Boat Club Road ,at 10 am on Friday.
