Maharashtra’s first edition of the fundraising race,Oxfam Trailwalker,was held in the city on Saturday with 79 teams participating. The trail’s length was 100 km,from MDC in Mulshi to Lonavala,and had to be finished within 48 hours. The winner was the team Every Mile Counts,comprising Vikas Singh from Mumbai,Manoj Verma from Delhi,Daniel Plane from Australia and Sultan Singh from Bangalore. Each team had to pay a registration fee of Rs 16,000 and raise a minimum of Rs 50,000 to participate. The proceeds will go to Sampark,a local NGO that supports tribal welfare.
