Pune: Congress leader Vishwajeet Kadam sustains minor injury in car accident

Kadam tweeted that the 'blessings of late father Patangrao Kadam and wishes of his supporters' were with him.

Vishwajeet Kadam was elected for a second term from Palus-Kadegaon constituency in Sangli district in the recent Assembly polls.

Congress leader and Palus-Kadegaon MLA Vishwajeet Kadam (39) sustained a minor injury after his car met with an accident in Pune on Wednesday night.

In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Kadam said, “While returning to Pune from Mumbai, my car met with an accident as it hit a tree in Pune. Fortunately, there was no major damage. My driver and I are fine. I have sustained a minor injury on the left shoulder.”

Kadam tweeted that the ‘blessings of late father Patangrao Kadam and wishes of his supporters’ were with him.

Some unverified reports suggested that the accident took place near Kadam’s residence on BMCC Road in Pune. The Deccan Gymkhana police station, which has jurisdiction over the area, said it has not received any report or official complaint about the accident.

Some post-accident images of Kadam’s Mercedes, which made the rounds of social media, showed the state of the damaged vehicle. Kadam could not be contacted over the phone.
