The Pu La Utsav,which was a cultural treat for the city,concluded on Monday. On the second day of Pu la Utsav,Tarunaee,a special screening of 25 documentaries,directed by young directors from across the world,was organised at the National Films Archive of India (NFAI).
Director Umesh Kulkarni inaugurated the event with the screening of his documentary Three of Us. Films from Iran,China,Singapore,Malaysia,Israel and India were also screened through the day.
Later in the day,Girish Prabhunes Ahmednagar-based organisation Snehalay,which works for sex workers and their children,was awarded the Pulautsav Krutadnyata Sanman at New English School,Ramanbaug.
A programme on poems Shodh Kavitecha,written and directed by Mahesh Patankar,and Parisparsh an interaction of classical singer Sanjiv Abhyankar,director Satish Rajwade,lyricist Guru Thakur,Aniket Aamte and actress Amruta Subhash enthralled the gathering.
On the third day,the Pu La Utsav Tarunaee Sanman was given to classical singer Jayteerth Mevundi from Kirana Gharana by senior artist Ravi Paranjape. A short film Bhinna Shadaj,directed by Amol Palekar and Sandhya Gokhale was also shown. Senior Marathi poet Mangesh Padgaokar was felicitated with the Pu La Utsav Jeevangaurav Sanman.
