Prakash Sapkal and RCF register wins

RCF’s 7-0 victory ensures semi-final berth

Prakash Sapkal Academy scored a 4-1 win over Prabhakar Aspat Academy in the third edition of the Late Devdas Shetty Memorial monsoon hockey league tournament.The match began with both teams probing each other’s strengths with no attack of note till the 15th minute.

Akash Sapkal opened the scoring for Prakash Sapkal Academy in the 29th minute. Santosh Kasture then doubled the advantage one minute before half-time. In the second half,Yogesh Thakur’s goal allowed Prabhakar Aspat Academy to reduce the deficit.

However,attacker,Amol Bhosale’s rapid-fire brace,both goals came in the space of two minutes,decided the match and gave Prakash Sapkal Academy full points.

In the second match of the day,it was business as usual for RCF,as they milked Hockey Lovers for a 7-0 victor. Suhas Patil started the demolition,opening the scoring and then adding one more in the second half.

Ravi Pareek,Ashish Chetty,Vijay Thapa,Vinay Shukla and Manpreet Singh all scored one goal apiece to complete RCF’s victory and allowed them to reign supreme on top of the points table.

Millennium rally trounces MPA

The girls’ team from Sanjay Sports Academy defeated Abhinav High School 25-17 in the opening match of the Under-12 District Level Invitational Tournament at Deccan Gymkhana.

Vaidehee Bahirat and Sannika Nair scored eight points each for Sanjay Sports Academy. In the second match,Dastur High School recorded a 22-2 victory over Millennium School. MPA thrashed Kaveri 23-3 with Shivani Godse scoring 10 points for MPA. Hoopers defeated Mitra Mandal Club 34-0 with Aditi Joshi scoring 10 points.

In the Under-12 Boys section from Loyola High School thumped Mitra Mandal Club 32-0,while Vidyanchal defeated New India 32-10.

Millennium School defeated MPA 30-22 in a closely contested match.

Sahil Panse’s 10 points and Ninad Gore’s eight points helped Millennium School to victory after they trailed 9-22 at the end of the second quarter.
