Police nab Pune man who ‘harassed’ Korean blogger Kelly in viral video

“Don’t stand so far. Hold her like this,” a guy can be heard saying. The ‘hugger’ continues to hold her as she tries to hold a distance between them. Moments later, the man releases her. The vlogger is then heard saying, “I have to run from here… They really like to hug.”

Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey told The Indian Express that the incident took place in Ravet, on the outskirts of the city. “When the incident was brought to our notice, we launched a probe. We have detained the suspect today and are in the process of registering an FIR against him.”

When asked about details of the incident—time, date and exact location—Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 2), Kakasaheb Dole, said, “An offence is being registered against this person based on a suo motu complaint. Once the FIR is registered, we can share more details.”

Kelly posted the video on her YouTube channel a few days ago, with the title — Walking on the street in India alone as a solo woman traveller’. At the beginning of the video, she says, “Wherever you travel, you can meet bad people.” However, she further tells her viewers to not judge Indians by the actions of a few people. Kelly has more than 1.69 lakh subscribers on the video-sharing platform.
