The Samruddhi Mahila Nagri Pathsanstha,which is the biggest womens credit society with 1,800 members in Pimpri-Chinchwad,has declared 10 per cent dividend for the 10th consecutive year. The group also announced its turn over had reached Rs 1 crore this year. Several of its members however pitched in their funds to organise the felicitation of meritorious students. The function was held last week at Kasarwadi where Meghna Marathe,welfare officer of the Forbes Marshal guided the women members. Samruddhi president Lata Mahankale pointed out the progress of the society. Anita Landge compered the function. Among others,Neeta Rane,Anuradha Kajle,Sumati Jadhav,Surekha Gaikwad,Anjali Vaidya,Shobha Singh and Bharati Chimad were present.

Civic edu board gets an officer,finally

PCMCs education board which looks after the primary schools has finally got an administrative officer. Balasaheb Ovhal,a state government officer will be on deputation at PCMC. This was 11 months after Hari Bharati was transferred by the state government. The charge was being held by secondary division education officer Vishnu Jadhav. I was holding the charge. Henceforth I will look after secondary divison only while Ovhal will be in charge of the primary division.

Holi of water bills

The exorbitant water bills have agitated the residents in Pimpri-Chinchwad no end. To express their anger,former opposition leader Macchindra Tapkir staged a holi of water bills right in front of the PCMC headquarters on Saturday. I was forced to do this as PCMC first gave wrong and high exorbitant bills and refused to correct them, he said.
