Pimpri civic chief bats for infrastructure

Pimpri-Chinchwad needs sufficient infrastructure to promote educational activities and entertainment avenues such as parks,malls,theatres,resorts and good restaurants,said Municipal Commissioner Asheesh Sharma here.

Pimpri-Chinchwad needs sufficient infrastructure to promote educational activities and entertainment avenues such as parks,malls,theatres,resorts and good restaurants,said Municipal Commissioner Asheesh Sharma here. He was speaking at the advisory body meeting of Top Management Consortium (TMC) at the Auto Cluster Complex,Chinchwad.

The area under PCMC jurisdiction has a population of nearly 15 lakh. It is spread over 175 sq kilometre area and is growing at the rate of 30 per cent.

“The PCMC has come up with projects such as piped water supply from Pavana dam and an international convention centre in Moshi. Considering the massive expansion,there is a need for proper infrastructure,he said.

The auto cluster is a well-equipped research and development centre and should be supported by the foreign companies located in the PCMC area,said Auto Cluster managing director VM Rao.

“If land is available,national and international schools can be set up to cater to the residential population,” said Dr J G. Patil,Director of DYPIMS,Akurdi. Members of the advisory board of TMC said they would support the PCMC development plans.

Mukesh Malhotra,president,MCCIA,and Bahri Malhotra,president,TMC ,were also present.
