On Saturday, the actors of Marathi movie Baboo Band Baaja did a live act during movie intervals at City Pride,Kothrud. As a part of their unique promotional strategy, the team of Baboo Band Baaja visited the three City Pride theatres in the city to entertain the audiences during intervals. “Intervals are meant for trailers and we tried to bring in a live element to it,” said Rajesh Pinjani, director. Pinjani’s debut venture won three national awards in 2010. “Now it is time to win the hearts of the audience,” added Pinjani. With over 15 performances on the first day,the team is all set to enter the Limca Book of Records as well. The film will release on April 13. “We have a target of performing at 75 intervals in these two days,” said actor Milind Shinde. The film revolves around the life and struggle of a rural band player. Despite a tight budget,Pinjani’s efforts to promote the film well have worked. “We are actors and we can perform everywhere. It is perhaps for the first time that a Marathi film is being promoted in this manner and we are happy to be a part of it,” added Shinde.
