Perfect dozen for RCF

Rashtriya Chemical Fertilizers (RCF),Mumbai,walloped Rakshak Sports Club,while Pune City Police earned a comprehensive victory over Hockey Lovers in the third Late Devdas Shetty Memorial monsoon hockey league.

RCF smacked in 12 unanswered goals against a shell-shocked Rakshak Sports Club at the Major Dhyan Chand hockey stadium. Vijay Thapa scored in the 10th minute to give RCF the lead before Sankalp Raghav raised the advantage. Ashish Chetty hammered home a brace followed by goals by Upendra Pillay and Sankalp Raghav.

RCF took a 5-0 lead into half-time. The second half belonged completely to RCF striker Ravi Pareek,who scored four goals,cutting through the Rakshak defence at will. Manpreet Singh and Satish Lama helped themselves to a goal apiece to complete the rout.

In another match,Pune City Police logged a 4-1 victory over Hockey Lovers. Vinod Limbore,Umesh Pulgam,Kamlakar Gaikwad and Prashant Gaikwad scored for the Pune Police team. Hockey Lovers’ solitary goal was scored by Pranay Garsund.
