On the road for a month travelling across the country, for Dilpreet Singh Bindra it is a journey to connect and unify people against terror
While on his way to Lucknow from Bandhavgarh,a couple of men tried to rob him, only to spare him later after knowing his intentions; in Goa the traffic police halted him for not wearing his seat belts, and then, seeing the posters on the car,let him go. Gathering such experiences, driving thousands of kilometers over the past month,Dilpreet Singh Bindras unique initiative has earned encouragement and empathy all the way. Bindra,a member of the Taj family,in the wake of the 26/11 attacks has been travelling across the Taj chain of hotels across the country with the aim of One India One Taj,spreading the spirit of togetherness.
Covering around thirteen thousand kilometers across the country, beginning June 20 from Delhi,he has another 2550 kilometers to cover till he reaches his final destination,Mumbai on July 22. The response has been overwhelming -from the roads to the interaction with the hotel associates, everyone recognises the efforts and supports it. I have also been collecting messages of solidarity throughout the way. I update my blog everyday with pictures and the implausible interactions I have along the journey. With 500 kilometers of driving each day for eight hours-believe me India is incredible on the roads, he grins.
