Passengers were left waiting at Goa’s Manohar International Airport for hours after a flight for Pune was delayed by over four hours Sunday night.
Around 40 passengers were scheduled to take the FLY91 flight which was to depart at 8.05 pm and reach Pune by 10.30 pm. However, the flight departed after midnight and landed around 1.15 am.
The passengers reported receiving multiple notifications pushing back the departure time, first to 10.30 pm, then 11.30 pm and so on.
Ameya Kunte, one of the passengers, took to X and posted: “The Goa (GOX)- Pune (PNQ) flight, scheduled for 8 pm, was delayed by 4 hours. Finally, it took off past midnight. There was no advance intimation, apology, or food. There was no pickup bus at Pune airport, so passengers were forced to walk to the arrivals area, putting travelers at risk. The manager and ground staff were fighting. It was a poor experience.”
FLY91 airlines attributed the delay to a technical issue in flight IC 1378, following which a spare aircraft was deployed later. A notification regarding the delay was sent to the passengers three hours prior to the scheduled departure, the airline said.
