IN a unique initiative,city-based entrepreneur Abhijit Bhosale has launched a website,www.mangowale.com,to deliver Alphonso mangoes to the customer’s doorstep.

“Initially,the facility will be available only in the city. We have more than 16 retail outlets in various regions in the city. Every retail counter has a delivery van. Orders can be booked on the website or customers can call. The orders will be diverted to respective sales locations via our telecaller network and will then be home delivered too,” said Bhosale,who runs Rainbow International an agency dealing with imports of hi-tech farming techniques equipments. “The basic idea is to directly deliver a farm product to the customer. After interacting with mango farmers,we realised that the major profit goes to the middle agencies. If the farmer has to get good returns for his best quality produce,there is a need to establish a platform to facilitate mango growers to have a direct link with the end-customers and through this website we have done just that,” said Bhasale. “We have been supporting mango growers by giving exposure to international,hi-tech farming machinery and techniques in a bid to increase the yield and quality to make their produce of international standard. Now,we have joined hands with them to establish this platform,” he said.
