Project funding:State Ministry of Finance and Law was to clear the funds.
Facility:The project was first proposed in 2008,after threats to various government buildings.
The security enhancement measures included CCTV cameras and a control room to monitor them,metal detectors and luggage scanners. Additional police personnel were to be assigned to frisk visitors. In a meeting of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan,Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar,Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Mohit Shah,Registrar General of the HC S B Shukre and officials of the revenue and public works departments,it was decided to hand over the additional eight acres of Shivajinagar godown land to the court. This will be in addition to the six buildings and five canteens on the existing premises.
Present status:A comprehensive survey of security for the existing court premises,family court building that is coming up and the newly added 8 acres of Shivajinagar godown land is being undertaken by the PMC,police department and judicial officers. With no budget clearance from finance and law departments,the plan continues to remain on paper.
