The Director of Technical Education,S K Mahajan,on Wednesday, clarified that there would be no change in the schedule of the first year engineering admission process even as some of the institutes have moved the court against All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for “detaining” their approvals.

As per the schedule displayed on the website of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) ,submission of online option form of centralised admission process (CAP) round-I will start on Thursday. Mahajan said the colleges that had moved court were not included in the admission process.

The Bombay High Court will hear the petition filed by four institutes in the city, including two engineering colleges against AICTE’s decision to detain their letter of approval (LoA). The institutes have claimed their LoAs have been withheld by AICTE without giving any reason. These institutes were shown approved on the website of AICTE on June 30. There are 24 such institutes, including management and engineering colleges across the state. “ If the court order goes in favour of the colleges,DTE will include the seats of these colleges in the subsequent CAP rounds,” said Mahajan.

Meanwhile,as per the notification, submission of online option form of CAP round-Iby Maharashtra state and AIEEE candidates and confirmation of submission of online option form of CAP round-I application form receipt centre (ARC) by Maharashtra state and AIEEE candidates will start on July 29 and will continue till August 2. Provisional allotment of CAP round-I for Maharashtra state and AIEEE candidates will be displayed at 5 pm on August 4.

“Aspiring candidates are required to fill in the online option form, take the printout of the form and confirm in person with duly signed printout of the online option form at any of the ARC notified by this directorate as per schedule,” said the notification.
