Nigerian arrested for supplying cocaine

The Crime Branch of Pune police along with the Goa police have arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly supplying 400 gm Cocaine worth Rs 10 lakh to a real estate agent and a student who were held on March 6.

The Crime Branch of Pune police along with the Goa police have arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly supplying 400 gm Cocaine worth Rs 10 lakh to a real estate agent and a student who were held on March 6.

The suspect has been identified as Christopher Wabuje Obu alias Gabriel,a resident of at Saaligao in Goa.

The Anti-Organised Crime Cell of Pune police had arrested real estate agent Harkatsingh alias Chotu Indrajeetsingh Gathode (21) and Ashraf alias Niya Abdul Jalil Thakur (21),both from Kondhwa,on March 6. The contraband and a car was seized from them.

API Arvind Gokule had gone to Goa along with the arrested trio in search of the Nigerian national.

“We arrested Gabriel on March 11 through a as decoy customer to purchase Cocaine. Goa police team was also part of the operation. Growing suspicious,Gabriel did not turn up for long time. But when he did in the evening,we arrested him.”

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) A D Shinde,DCP (crime) Rajesh Bansode,ACP (crime I) Vinod Satav and PI Balkrishna Kutwal guided the team which arrested Gabriel. Pune Cantonment court remanded Gabriel to police custody till March 21.
