The gnarled old Gulmohar tree’s leafy canopy casts a cool shade, soothing in the afternoon heat. Its little red and orange flowers are a sight just as soothing and come alive in artist Bhavana Choudhary’s art. Bhopal-based Choudhary paints with a distinct style, using abstractism to lead to imagination, using colours and brushstrokes to bring a suggestion of joy and softness in her art. Her series on the Gulmohar tree have become quite popular in collector’s galleries and may now be viewed in an exhibtion titled Hues and Colours at the Renaissance Art Studio, off Pashan Road. The exhibition will continue till October 12,open through the week except on Sundays.
