Narcotic substances worth Rs 1.5 cr disposed of

Narcotic substances worth Rs 1.5 crore were disposed of at the State Reserve Police Force premises in Wadachi Wadi on Tuesday.

Narcotic substances worth Rs 1.5 crore were disposed of at the State Reserve Police Force premises in Wadachi Wadi on Tuesday. The exercise was carried out by the members of a committee formed to dispose of narcotics substances seized by police in the jurisdiction of Pune city,Pune rural and Pune Railway police.

The disposed of substances included 2,589.15 kg of opium,1.58 kg of brown sugar,4.94 kg of charas and 982 grams of bhang,all worth Rs 1,55,30,545. Inspector Sunil Tambe of Anti Narcotics Cell of Pune city police and inspector Arun Sawant of Preventive Crime Branch (PCB) led the exercise.

B T Ambegaonkar,additional superintendent of police,state CID,Jitndra Jawale,assistant chemical analyst of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL),Pune and V P Ingle,officer at Maharashtra Pollution Control Board officer were also present.
