MSRTC cargo bus collides with vehicles near Chandani chowk, 4 injured

Police said the "Mahacargo" bus of MSRTC was ferrying parcels and packages from Panvel to Pune. Police suspect the bus driver lost control, after which it hit the mixer machine and other vehicles.

At least four people were injured after a bus of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) collided with a concrete mixture machine and a few vehicles at Chandni chowk slope in Kothrud on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the “Mahacargo” bus of MSRTC was ferrying parcels and packages from Panvel to Pune. Police suspect the bus driver lost control, after which it hit the mixer machine and other vehicles.

Police said the driver of the bus and also the concrete mixer truck lost control on the slope from Chandni chowk to Kothrud, due to which the two vehicles collided with each other and further hit a motorcycle around 4.30pm. Two people on the motorcycle collapsed on the road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam said four people were injured in the mishap, of whom three are out of danger. Police said a woman who received major injuries in the accident is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

A team from Kothrud police station initiated an investigation into the case.
