Amid reports of drone sightings leading to chaos and panic in different parts of the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Sunday warned that the administration will invoke the Gangster Act and the National Security Act against unauthorised use of drones.

“There is a complete ban on drone operation without permission, and thus, strict action will be taken against the offenders,” said a senior government officer.

He further said, “The chief minister has said that attempts to spread rumours or create fear will not be tolerated.”

Officials also said that CM Adityanath has given instructions to the chief secretary and the director general of police to review drone activities.

“Directives have also been given to soon bring in drone monitoring systems and strict surveillance in the state. Further, instructions have been given to ensure regular patrolling in districts for security and to instil confidence among the public. The government will deal strictly with those misusing technology as there can be no tolerance for disrupting law and order,” added a senior officer.
