More cheated by Gurav come up to register fraud of Rs 80 lakh

More youths who were allegedly cheated by ex-serviceman Sandeep Gurav with fake appointment letters to military establishments, have started coming forward. The number has now gone up to 32 with total cheating amount going to up to around Rs 80 lakh.

Meanwhile Gurav was arrested by police and has now been remanded to police custody till July 11. Probe had revealed that Gurav had tapped these youths during an Army soldier recruitment drive. He had got in touch with failed candidates saying he could help him get recruited as subhedar with some military units in Pune. Inspector Anil Patil of Crime Branch said, “A total of 32 youths have come forward with complaints now and total cheating amount is around Rs 80 lakh. These numbers are expected to grow.”
