This week when you stop by Grubshup on Law College Road to grab a quick bite,you can also appreciate some good art. The eatery is showcasing the soft pastel collection of Saket Mehendale from July 11 to July 20. The architect cum artist brings a very lively and fresh feel to his frames. The collection features scenery of the Konkan coast and the imagery of the Pune University campus.
Rekindling memories
The mood was vibrant and noise levels cheerily high on July 16 at Studio Estique. The place was decorated for the reunion of St. Helena’s school’s alum from 1975 batch onwards. The best part of the reunion was the presence of teachers,some in their 70s and 80s,like Jeroo Dinshaw,Mary George Thomas,Veena Thadani,Nirmala Khemlani,Myrtelle Machado,Sheila Samuel,Michael David,Anita Tanga,Farida Singh,Sweety Bulsara (Wycliffe),Katheline Kolah,Eunice Chowdhary and Olive Das. The reunion was attended by Padma Bhamidipati from the Class of 1991 who got Skype activated and had Helenites logging in from all corners of the world watching the event and talking to their favourite teachers and batchmates.
