Mumbai- based actor and model Vandana Ravindra Tiwari alias Gehna Vashishth was on Saturday arrested for allegedly using national flag as a bikini.
Deccan Gymkhana Police Station held her under relevant sections of Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act,1971. A team from Deccan Police Station picked her up from her residence in Mumbai.
Based on the photos posted on the Internet,a leader of a political party had registered a complaint at Deccan Gymkhana Police Station.
Sr Inspector Manohar Joshi,in charge of the police station,said,”She was put on arrest in the evening and will be produced in the court on Sunday.”
Earlier,police had asked her to be present in the police station but she refused saying her shooting schedule was on.
