She learnt the Djembe in West Africa and there, her love for the drums and dance music led her to jam with DJs. Percussionist Victoria Bourke, based in Brighton,UK,has since played with house and tech DJs like Natasha Rose,Semi Stef,Tom Vagabondo and others. Before her performance at Miami,Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre,on Friday night with DJ Nikhil Chinappa, she quipped,"The evening will be one of melodic sounds - west African percussion combining with electronic dance beats which lead to an up-tempo organic beat." Describing the event, she added,"This will be a chance to hear and experience the magical west African drumming combined with a high energy progressive tech house set." Bourke was excited about collaborating with Chinappa. The percussionist was also all praise for the Indian music culture. "The rate at which music is changing here is phenomenal. In fact, the elements of live acts incorporated with electronic dance music seem to be a lot more in India than in Brighton," she said.
