The ex-students of the 1986 batch of St Jude’s school recently donated a water filtration and purification plant for the students of the school.

Water filtration plant donated
The ex-students of the 1986 batch of St Jude’s school recently donated a water filtration and purification plant for the students of the school. The students of the ’86 batch had recently organised an alumni meet wherein 35 of the ex-students had participated.

In addition to the filtration plant the students also donated a tea and coffee vending machine and water coolers for the members of the teaching staff.

Fashion designing courses for women
The Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya,will be organising fashion designing and leather and cloth bag making,courses for women who wish to become self employed. The courses will begin from July 20 onwards. While the fashion designing course will be held for a period of three months,the course in leather and cloth bag making will be held for a period of one month. Various different techniques like embroideries and varli paintings will be taught during the course. The courses will be held at the Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya,at the Aga Khan Palace.

Students felicitated
The Sainath Mitra Mandal trust and the Konkan Rahivasi Sangh felicitated the meritorious students of classes tenth and twelfth from the areas of Hanuman Nagar Rautwadi,Kelewadi,and Rajivgandhi Park on Thursday.

A total of 75 students were felicitated during the programme. They were given a memento as a token of their success. During the programme the students also spoke about their experiences and expressed their desires to pursue careers in various different fields.

Books donated to students
The members of the Sainath Trust,Budhwar Peth,on the occasion of the death anniversary of social worker Annabhau Sathe donated books to 65 school children from the Nutan Samarth Vidyalaya,Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya,SNDT Girls School Nutan Balvikas School and the Seth Hiralal School on Saturday.

They also gave cheques to the students for their entire yearly expenses towards education at the hands of social worker Renu Gavaskar. Milind Bhoi of the SV Desai College also donated books to the children.

In addition to this,the members also paid tribute to actor Nilu Phule who passed away recently.
