Oakwood Premier Hotel,is holding a mango festival at their in house restaurant Sen5es. Begun in the first week of April the festival will go on till the end of May.

Mango mania
Oakwood Premier Hotel,is holding a mango festival at their in house restaurant Sen5es. Begun in the first week of April the festival will go on till the end of May. In addition to the mango festival,the place will also feature a Sugarcane juice machine and a baraf gola (chuski) vendor. Mango treats like Mango Pancake with Mango syrup,Mango Sorbet,Mango Mousse,Raw Mango and Papaya Salad,and Mango Pie will be some of the dishes that people can try out during the festival. In addition,for all those who like to drink it down with spirits high we have the Mango Daiquiri and Mango Martini. The Sugarcane Juice and Baraf Golas will be made using mineral water,keeping in mind the hygiene aspect of the same.

Iced beginnings
Orchard Fresh,the ice cream joint will be offering new varieties of ice creams from China,Mexico,Italy,Thailand and Vietnam for people to beat the heat this summer. Specialising in customised ice creams,some of their other flavours include the hugely popular Orange Fantasy,Lemon Grass,Rose Petal,Musk Melon or Filter Coffee. Located on FC road behind Hotel Vaishali,the ice-cream parlour uses natural ingredients like milk,cream,sugar,fresh fruits,dry fruits and natural flavors to churn out the icy treats. “Our major strength lies in making customised ice creams. Wwe have several flavours and ice cream delicacies traditional,Chinese,Mexican,Italian,Thai and Vietnamese cuisines,” says Divyang Upadhyay of Mansi Hospitality Services Franchisees of Orchard Fresh. Some of the other flavors on offer include Almond and Prunes,Tender Coconut with Litchi,Red Wine and Fig,Zesty Lemon,Fig and Rum with Almond.

Idle Afternoons
With the sun beating down on the city,11 East Street Café is organising their weekly Sunday brunches for lazy afternoons on warm weekends. The brunch,which is on from 11 am till 4 pm,has over 8 live counters and a lavish spread of Indian and continental food from pancakes to grills,pizzas to kathi rolls,pastas and omelets. Other dishes on the platter include prawns,Chicken Biryani,Paneer dishes,and also the traditional Pancakes with Maple syrup. One can either opt for the King’s Brunch Rs 699,or the Queen’s Brunch at Rs 499. The brunch also comes along with an option of having unlimited liquor along with it.

Holidays galore
With the vacations lined up round the corner The Manas Resort located at Bhugaon,is all set to offer a weekend full of activities for the people. Activities like boating on the lakefront or even go-karting at the go-kart track are some of the many activities that one can try out at the resort. In addition the resort also boasts of a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian restaurant and a Thai restaurant.

Stomach full of delights
The Potoba chain of restaurants has recently opened their sixth and the largest outlet in Sadashiv Peth. Well-known for their traditional Maharashtrian vegetarian dishes like the Varanphal,Thalipeeth,Khichadi Kadhi,Phodnicha Bhaat,Phodnichi Poli,Metkut Bhaat,Sudharas – Poli,Sakharamba – Poli,Shikran – Poli and Peethale – Bhakri the place also serves Punjabi and Chinese cuisine at their premises. Speaking more about the new facility Parag Inamdar,Director – P Square Restaurants India,says,“To ensure that the taste of all these traditional delicacies remains uniform all across the chain,we have launched a centralized kitchen facility at Sadashiv Peth. This will also help us to have better control over quality.” Located at the Phadke Sankul,Near Pune Vidyarthi Gruha at Sadashiv Peth,they also plan to expand to other cities like Mumbai and Goa very soon.

Chat-ty Affair
With the launch of their second outlet,Golgappe,the Chaat outlet,located off East Street,promises to take hungry shoppers who wish to stop for a quick bite on a gastronomical trip of sorts. Launched recently in the first week of April the joint boasts of popular Chaats,and authentic North-Indian snacks for people on the move. Speaking about the place,owner Imran Rajan says,“We started with the first Golgappe outlet last year in March at NIBM road,and this is the second one here on East Street in Pune Camp. The most important part about our outlets is that all the products,including the curds that we use are made in house by us. So be it the elongated puris for the Paani-Puri,or the thick curds used in the Basket Chaats,everything is made by us.” Some of the items that deserve a second mention,include the Paani-Puris,and the Dahi Puris,both for Rs 25 and Rs 40 respectively,the Basket Chaat for Rs 70,and the Chole Bhature for Rs 70. Speaking more about the place,Rajan adds,“In addition to the Chaats we also have a long array of grilled sandwiches,and Paranthas. As far as the Paranthas are concerned they are served along with a dollop of curds and pickle. Some of the in-house specialties include the Aloo Parantha for Rs 50,the Aloo and Onion Parantha for Rs 60 and the Cheese Parantha for Rs 70.”And if the thought that the place did not offer anything to cool down during the hot summer months did cross the mind then Golgappe also has an interesting array of Lassis and Kulfis up for grabs. Priced at Rs 30 the Lassis come in various flavours like Mango and Strawberry,while the various Kulfis are priced at Rs 25
