Forensic tests have confirmed that an MBA student was raped in Hinjewadi,Pune,by the three men she complained against and who have since been arrested Samples of the 11 accused of an Ahmedpur gangrape,too,have all tested positive for rape at the Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories,Kalina.
The 25 year-old MBA student,married,was returning from an interview in Hinjewadi when she was offered a lift by three men who then allegedly abducted her and took turns at raping her through the night in the vehicle. The Hinjewadi police had arrested history-sheeter Subash Bhosale who owned the car,Ranjit Gade and Ganesh Kamble.
The woman,a hospitality management professional from a well-to-do Nagpur family,had come to India with her husband on March 1 from the US,where she is an administrator with a prominent hospital chain.
Traces of semen on the samples taken from the woman have matched the samples taken from all three accused. The tests have positively concluded that the accused have had intercourse with the victim, said an official.
Senior inspector G Madgulkar of Hinjewadi police station said besides swabs and blood samples,they had also sent the clothes of the woman and the three men,and the covers of the car cushions.
A monthearlier,a 21 year-old housewife in Ahmedpur was offered a lift by an autorickshaw driver who instead took her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her with others.
The forensic results give us a strong case, said sub-divisional police officer,Ahmedpur,M Dubule.
Three of the accused have been granted bail but the Ahmedpur police now plan to move the High Court with the lab results.
