Man kills friend over eveteasing

An altercation over an alleged eveteasing incident escalated into a fight between friends resulting in the murder of one of them at Nigdi

An altercation over an alleged eveteasing incident escalated into a fight between friends resulting in the murder of one of them at Nigdi on Thursday night.

Nigdi police have arrested Mahesh Kishor Shigvan (23) and his brother Ajay Shivgan (19) for allegedly murdering 22-year-old Ravindra Ashok Kshirsagar.

Nigdi police inspector Sunil Yadav said,“On Thursday night, at around 11 pm,Kshirsagar,Mahesh Shigvan (23) and another friend Pravin Mhaske were sitting together and consuming alcohol.

For the last few days,Kshirsagar had been nursing a grudge against Mahesh and Kshirsagar suspected Mahesh to have misbehaved and teased his cousin. After a heated argument,Kshirsagar slapped him.”

Mahesh went home and returned with his brother Ajay. Yadav said,“Mahesh assaulted Kshirsagar on the chest with a sharp weapon.”

He was pronounced dead at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. “We have arrested Mahesh and his brother Ajay (19) under murder charges,” he said.

Both were produced before the magistrate. They are in police custody till March 15. Yadav said Kshirsagar was a historysheeter and had been arrested for an armed robbery in the past.
