A 29-YEAR-OLD man,who worked as a medical representative with a pharmaceutical company,was allegedly murdered and his body was found hanging from a tree near Dapodi railway station on Monday morning. He was gagged and his legs and hands had been tied,said police,adding that the murder could be a fallout of a love affair.
Bhosari police have identified the deceased as Amol Prabhakar Murame,a resident of Navi Sangvi,who was originally from Umaraga in Osmanabad district. Some local residents saw the body hanging to a tree with a nylon rope. They then informed the police control room.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone III) Shahaji Umap said,Prima facie,it looked like a suicide but on close observation we had a suspicion of foul play. He was identified based on the documents kept in a suitcase found near the body.
Inspector Chandrakant Bhosale of Bhosari police station said,The primary post-mortem report says that it is a homicidal death because along with the strangulation mark there is also an injury inflicted with a blunt object. The way his hands were tied behind the body also shows that it is a murder. We have registered an offence of murder based on the complaint by Murames father.
Umap added,Based on the letters we have found in the suitcase,it seems that he was in a relationship with a woman and was frustrated due to some problems between the two. We have also found a pregnancy test report on which his name has been mentioned as that of the husband. He is,however,unmarried. We suspect someone may have killed him as a fallout of the dispute following these tensions. We have started the probe.
