Makwani elected PCB V-P

Karan Makwani was on Monday elected unopposed as vice-president of Pune Cantonment Board.

Karan Makwani was on Monday elected unopposed as vice-president of Pune Cantonment Board (PCB).

Makwani was elected unanimously in the board in which Congress has the majority.

Makwani was supported by former Minister of State for Home and MLA Ramesh Bagwe, who was present in the meeting.

Makwani replaced Manzoor Nazir Shaikh as vice- president and will stay in office for at least seven months.

The election to the vice-president’s office came only a day after Bagwe,at a press conference, talked about problems faced by the residents of cantonment. Bagwe was present throughout the meeting taking keen interest in points taked up by members.

Bagwe was asked by the PCB chief executive officer Rachel Koshy to get a policy approved from the state government so that advertisements of the PCB are charged at DAVP rates instead of commercial rates which are expensive for the board.

Bagwe told the CEO to write a letter to him so that he can take up the issue at appropriate level.
