Maharashtra SSC results: Pune Division records 94.81% pass percentage

The Pune regional division ranked fourth in the state, behind Konkan, Kolhapur, and Mumbai in the Maharashtra State Board Class 10 results.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Tuesday announced the Class 10 examination results and the Pune regional division secured a 94.81 per cent pass percentage.

In the Pune division, 2,63,154 students appeared for the examination, out of which 2,49,507 (94.81 per cent) attained passing marks, according to information provided by the MSBSHSE. Pune ranked fourth in the state behind Konkan, Kolhapur, and Mumbai in passing percentage.

Out of the three districts in the Pune division, the Pune district ranked first with a passing percentage of 97.26 per cent. This was followed by Solapur at 92.83 per cent and Ahilyanagar stood last with 91.85 per cent. The Pune district also had the highest number of students appearing for the exam (1,32,447), as compared to Ahilyanagar (66,858) and Solapur (63,849).

In the division, 79,824 students achieved first class with distinction (marks greater than 75 per cent), 86,594 achieved first class (marks greater than 60 per cent), 63,345 achieved second class (marks greater than 45 per cent), while 19,744 achieved passing marks (greater than 35 per cent).Thirteen students in the Pune division scored 100 per cent marks as a result of additional marks given due to extra-curricular activities. Overall, 52,638 students took advantage of the extra marks in the Pune division for the extra-curricular activities. Of these, 44,072 students had drawing as their extra-curricular activity, followed by sports (5,827).

Seventeen instances of copying were reported at seven examination centres in the Pune division during exams held in February and March. These centres will now undergo scrutiny, and their recognition will be permanently revoked following the investigation. However, no FIRs have been filed in connection with these violations.

In the Pune division, 4,998 students who have failed either one or two subjects will be eligible for the allowed-to-keep-term (ATKT) option, while 13,867 students qualify for re-examination.

In the division, 1,311 schools achieved a 100 per cent passing rate, while seven schools had no students passing the exams.

In 2024, the Pune division recorded a 96.44 per cent pass rate and ranked third in the state, with the first two positions being taken by Konkan and Kolhapur divisions.
