Maharashtra beat Saurashtra

Maharashtra won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a huge total of 473 runs in 110 overs for the loss of six wickets before declaring their innings. Nikhil Naik scored a brilliant innings of 181 runs,not out,of just 159 balls which included thirty boundaries and two sixes. Naik smacked the ball all over the park leaving the Saurashtra bowlers clueless.

Opener Jay Pande supported him well with a score of 132 runs of 243 balls which included 14 hits to the fence. Karan Jadhav and Kazi Shamzuma contributed with half centuries. In reply,Saurashtra managed to score just 78 runs before being bowled out thus forcing them to follow on. Azaz Kotharia,Amit Chauhan and Agnivesh Ayachi were the only three batsmen to get into double figures.

Or Maharashtra,Kazi Shamzuma and Jagdish Zope were the strike bowlers picking up four wickets each and cleaning through the opposition. Saurashtra followed on and managed to score only 14 more runs than in the first innings after they were all out for 92 runs. Chirag Baria was the top scorer with 19 runs and Parth Chauhan supported him well with 17 runs. For Maharashtra,Ashish Waghmare picked up five wickets for 47 runs in 15 overs. Mohsin Sayyed supported him well with four wickets for 19 runs in his 17 overs.
