Lavasa corp: Intercepted,protesters register complaint

Around 150 people,allegedly tried to ‘attack’ some activists protesting against the Lavasa Corporation on Monday.

Around 150 people,allegedly tried to ‘attack’ some activists protesting against the Lavasa Corporation on Monday.

Though police and Lavasa officials denied any such attack,a complaint has been registered with the Paud police station by Suniti S R,a protester.

According to the complaint,activists,including Suniti

SR,Ankush Mavkar,Suresh Dhamale,Sukhdev Hulavale,were heading towards Mugaon village to gather information regarding alleged violation of Land Ceiling Act in a project. As the car of the activists reached the Dasve village,some people approached the vehicle and asked them to leave.

Some of them climbed on the bonnet of the car. The driver continued driving with them on the bonnet.

Later,about five to six cars intercepted the car of the activists,the complaint stated.

Suniti S R has registered a complaint at Paud police station. Shrikrishna Kokate,deputy superintendent,Dehu Road police division,said,“We have not yet received the complete information on the issue. Prima facie,it seems,that the activists were not attacked,but were stopped from proceeding further.”

“We are investigating the case further,” he added.
