If you are looking to break away from the monotony of eating out in the ambience of a closed wall restaurant and want to get a taste of special Goan cuisine, head to Z Plus, the latest addition to the list of restaurants in town. Located at KirtaneBaug,Mundhwa,Z Plus is a 5000 sq ft open air restaurant, with a party deck and bamboo water fountains, all of which makes the place ideal for parties and family get-togethers. The décor is minimalist and subdued, while at the same time, making the most of natural elements.

“We have an open kitchen right here and the idea is to give guests a first-hand experience of what goes on behind the kitchen counter,” informs Shailendra Raskar, manager,Z Plus. “Guests can take a look at the quality of ingredients and the style of cooking that we follow here,” he adds. The chef recommends Carrot Coriander Soup, which he says is a great way to start off the meal. The menu includes some real Goan dishes like Chicken Xacuti (with a coconut-based gravy and a true Goan delight),Chicken Cafreal (a Portuguese speciality cooked with green herbs),Prawns Balchao (Stuffed pomfret ). “Among the chicken dishes,we have Lasooni Chicken (Chicken marinated in garlic, cooked in a rich gravy),Chicken Lahori (a typical delicacy from Lahore),Chicken Dum Biryani (Authentic chicken cooked with layers of rice in a clay pot),” informs Raskar.

Vegetarian diners too have a lot to choose from at this new restaurant. From the Veg Tawa to Bhendi Fry and Mashed Potatoes to Veg Handi, there’s a whole range of dishes one can select. “Apart from all these choices, there’s the Paneer Achari (a special paneer dish flavoured with mango pickle). Also,we have a wide range of appetisers and desserts to choose from,” he adds.

Plus is a great place to laze around and spend time away from the humdrum of city life. Head here to make the most of the rainy season and enjoy some quality food priced reasonably.
