AS the state faces a severe power shortage, the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce,Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has organised an interactive workshop on ‘Energy conservation, renewable energy and energy audits’ on June 21. Representatives of state government,Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) and the MCCIA will participate in the workshop at hall no 4 of MCCIA.
The objective of the workshop is to bring about the private players and the government on one platform and to learn more about the policies and schemes on energy conservation, its efficient use and widen the scope for generating innovative ideas for increasing energy efficiency.
The quantum of waste of energy taking place at every level of work will be discussed along with how to provide better energy management policies to the industries and domestic sector. With energy conservation being the cheapest, easiest and cleanest way for bridging the gap between demand and supply,it is estimated that energy conservation projects requires only one fifth of investment against installation of a new power project.
