Infosys engineer dies in truck-bike collision

A software engineer with the Infosys office at Hinjewadi died after a truck knocked down his motorcycle at Shivaji Chowk,Aundhgaon,on Wednesday late evening.

A software engineer with the Infosys office at Hinjewadi died after a truck knocked down his motorcycle at Shivaji Chowk,Aundhgaon,on Wednesday late evening.

Chaturshringi Police arrested truck driver Khandu Devkate (24),who is from Latur,for causing the death of Jay Amrutlal Parmar (24),a native of Thane.

Police said Devkate was driving towards Sangvi on the Ganeshkhind Road,when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit the divider,breaking it,before bouncing back on to the wrong side of the road where it collided with the motorcycle.

Police said Parmar had his helmet on but the crash was so severe,he died. Police handed over the body to the family on Thursday after completing legal formalities.

Parmar had come to Pune a year-and-a-half ago. Police sub-inspector A N Narute is investigating the case.
