The last session of the Indo-US Education Conclave 2011,themed Nurturing the eco-system of Pune to be the leading education hub of the globe,was held at Westin Hotel,Koregaon Park,on Wednesday. The session was organised in alliance with the US India Business (AUSIB) and Dr D Y Patil University.
Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth chancellor Dr P D Patil,Progressive Education Society chairman Dr Gajanan Ekbote,IISER director Dr Krishna Ganesh,MIT founder Dr Vishwanath Karad and Sinhagad Technical Education Society founder president M Navale,were the speakers. Symbiosis International University vice-chancellor Bhushan Patwardhan was the moderator.
Dr Ganesh said we should adopt modern methods of teaching. Dr Karad said spiritual components of life should be taken into consideration while teaching.
Dr Ekbote said teaching through research was the key for all institutions. Many initiatives should be taken by universities and institutes to give updated education.
