Indian Revenue lifts ABIL Cricket Trophy

The innings was laced with 11 boundaries and 5 sixes. Later on,Indian Revenue skipper Ajinkya Joshi joined the bandwagon and scored a brisk unbeaten 45 runs off 30 balls with 7 fours. Parag Khanapurkar again proved a third nightmare for the Mather & Platt bowlers as he scored 46 runs off 26 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Indian Revenue finished their innings posting the highest total of the tournament,220 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Manish Desai & Vinayak Renuse from Mather Platt scalped 2/34 & 2/45 respectively.

In reply,Mather & Platt were in great trouble when they lost their main batsman Vipul Jeurkar,who had a prolific run feast this year,in the very first over itself. Manoj Shirole and Vinayak Renuse tried covering up for the damage but couldn’t hold very long when Shirole got out scoring 30 runs in 35 balls. Vinayak Renuse struggling to find a partner at the other end also gave in scoring 23 runs off 13 balls hitting 1 four and 2 sixes. Mather & Platt failed to make a comeback after losing Renuse and went on losing wickets at regular intervals. Mather & Platt tailender Altaf Shaikh played a cameo knock of unbeaten 24 runs in 13 balls hitting 5 fours but by this time it was too late for Mather & Platt to mount a comeback.

Rakesh Bhadrapur (2/10),Rohit Rudra (2/14) & Ajinkya Joshi (2/18) helped Indian Revenue in defending their total. Mather & Platt ended their innings scoring 134 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Amit Velaskar was declared the man of the match for his match-winning knock.
