The conversations almost make you wait and think. Are these students actually discussing intricate details about appliance studies? Straining your ears to get in a little more of the conversation, and your suspicions turn out to be correct. At the Marathwada Mitramandal College of Commerce canteen, conversations fly high and mighty. Chirpy tales and hot vada paav’s probably sell more than anything. A question paper flies around, exhausted students get in an throw their bags as they get a sip at their favorite beverage. And so as Prasad Deshpande,a first year MBA student talks to his other two classmates,a lot more comes out than the expected. We sit here everyday – it’s like food for thought for us. I remember talking about everything from happenings in theclassroom to business to even personal problems. But in the warm corners of this canteen what also builts up is camaraderie and friendships which sure last for a long time. Says Supriya Karate, I did my junior college and my graduation from this college. For the past three years, the canteen has become a discussion point for us,so right from college politics to future plans, and dreams everything is shared here. A part of the canteen actually looks quite interesting, conversations start pouring in so do plates of the much loved pakodas and chai. Amidst the clatter, one can see focused eyes listening attentively. He is our faculty and those are the vocational course students. They often sit here and discuss future plans and lessons. In fact the faculty is so approachable that if feels great to see all of them talk, shares Manoj Rathod. But its not strange that students at MMCC get the happening of the real world into their learning places. History has it in place that centres of learnings were mostly places of debate and discussions. So right from the ancient Nalanda to the new age campuses, discussions and opinion almost always come along with the young, and so in this campus too,one walks out, thinking about the unforgiving nature of thoughts and the unfaltering appeal that they have.
