SMU-DE begin admissions
Sikkim Manipal University-Distance Learning (SMU-DE) has announced the opening of admissions to their 2010 session. Applications to various courses are available at over 710 SMU-DE Learning Centres covering 310 cities. The University offers postgraduate,graduate,post graduate diploma and diploma programmes across 10 disciplines, including allied health,IT,mass communication,apparel & fashion design,hospitality,telecom technology,commerce,management and journalism. Founder’s Day Celebrations
Sunderji Institutions recently organised its Founders’ Day–cum–Achievement Awards Day programme to felicitate personalities from the city of Pune. The achievers for this year were Uttara Pandit,Col Sagarika Patyal,Col N S Nyayapathi and Vijay Kumar Mehta. The chief guest for the evening was Lt Gen D P Vats,director and commandant of the Armed Forces Medical College,Pune. Three children were also felicitated – Tanmayi Ambati,Chandan Nagar,who a slogan contest; and Shruti Sethi,a student of Sunderji National Institute of Open School. The programme also included the Convocation Ceremony of the teacher trainees of the 2009-2010 batch.

Social Awareness Camp on Energy Conservation
The Department of Electrical Engineering of All India Shri Shivaji memorial Soceity’s Institute of Information Technology ( AISSM IOIT) recently organised a awareness camp for energy conservation. The group of students visited different residential premises located by staff members. The activity was carried out under the IE (I) students’ chapter of electrical enginnering department. The students briefed the residents about the cost saving measures that they can undertake. Feedback forms from residents were also collected.
