Twenty-eight old Swapnil Raste bagged the ‘pillars of Hindustani Society’ award instituted by Trans-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industries for the year 2010.

Raste is known for his compeering in more than 500 television programmes of well known singers like Usha Mangeshkar,Bela Shende,Tyagraj Khadilkar,Prasad oak etc. He has also interviewed nearly 100 Marathi actors,some of whom include Subodh Bhave,Pradip Velankar and Arun Nalawade. The award will also be given to actor-singer Salma Aga,Balasaheb Vikhe Patil and Vijay Khole. The award comprises of a certificate and citation. The award presentation function will be held in Mumbai on Wednesday.

PPI holds blood donation camp
Professionals Party of India (PPI) recently conducted a blood donation camp at Sakal Nagar,Aundh on Sunday. The drive was carried out to meet blood requirement of the German Bakery blast victims ,who were admitted to various hospitals in the city. Organisers said that in a span of two hours,about 20 bottles of healthy blood was collected.

Corporate building award
Suzlon One Earth Global Headquarters at Hadapsar was awarded as the best corporate building recently. The project designed by master architect Christopher Benninger got the the greenest building award.
