Amish Tripathi’s bestselling novel,’The Immortals of Melhua’ was launched in a Marathi version,’Meluhache Mrutyunjay’ on July 20 at Crossword Bookstore on S B Road. Tripathi had an interesting dialogue with the audience and spoke about Indian secularism,his childhood and about where he draws inspiration for his books. He also mentioned his new book ‘The Oath of the Vayaputras’ at the book launch.
Gujrati Galore
The Gujarati Food Festival at Shakahari,Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Center,is an interesting mix of flavours to leave your tastebuds tingling for more. The appetizers,Kela Wada,Methi Muthiya,Gujarati Kachori are served with a sweet chutney. Kanda na gol bhajiya and Paneer Tikka are tasty and light on your stomach. The main course is a hearty spread with Aloo Bhindi na sambhariya,khichdi, Surti dal,Fansi dokali nu saak,Ringana nu ollo,Kaju kissmiss karela nu saak,Fangavela mug and Gujrati kadi. The dessert is a delightful surprise with freshly made jalebis topped with creamy rabri and the Gujrati favourite amarkhand. The festival is on till the end of this month.
Shades of Beauty
Painter Vinay Joshi and photographer Meghana Inamdar share their joint perception of the universe and its beauty in an exhibition titled ‘Hues Of Beauty’ at Darpan Art Gallery till July 24. The artists have attempted to capture the variant beauty they encountered on their travels together since 1998. The gallery is located off Senapati Bapat Road and is open between 10 am and 8 pm.
