Why February 28 is celebrated as National Science Day
In 1928, scientist Sir C V Raman discovered a phenomenon known as the Raman Effect. For this remarkable discovery, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. This was the first Nobel Prize awarded to an Indian scientist. India commemorates this discovery every year by celebrating February 28 as National Science Day.
