IBM collaborates with Cummins

The IBM Shared University Research (SUR) Award is a worldwide award program designed to promote research in areas of mutual value and interest to IBM and universities.

IT giant IBM on in collaboration with Pune’s Cummins College of Engineering for Women and Symbiosis International University along with Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay (IIT-B) and Indian Institute of Technology – Indore announced the Shared University Research (SUR) awards for different Smarter Planet projects on August 30. The IBM Shared University Research (SUR) Award is a worldwide award program designed to promote research in areas of mutual value and interest to IBM and universities. The program targets a wide variety of areas,ranging from life sciences,high-performance computing and energy technology,to digital data protection. This collaboration is expected to foster both knowledge transfer and IT innovation.

Meritorious ways

Rochelle Ann Lepcha of MAEER’s Arts,Commerce & Science College,Kothrud,Pune scored First Class with Distinction with 71.18 per cent marks and stood second in the Merit List of the Master of Journalism & Mass Communication (MJMC) course examination conducted by the University of Pune in May this year.She was closely followed by Monika Billawaria of the same college,who also scored First Class with Distinction with 70.31 per cent marks,and was placed fourth in the Merit list. Mr. Himanshu Nitnaware ,who scored 69.81 per centmarks,featured at fifth place in the merit list. Of the 28 students of MACS college who sat for the MJMC examination this year,18 scored First Class.
